Highlights
Description
This assessment task is designed to allow students to deepen their knowledge on the relationship between radiographic positioning and image interpretation. You would need to consider the patients journey within a radiology department, from checking their clinical history, preparation, the projections needed, checking the quality of the images, checking for pathology, and sending images to PACS for reporting.
1. Foot Pathology
On the following foot x-ray series, label five different fractures that can occur. Define each fracture, describe its radiographic appearance, and the mechanism of injury.
2. Image Evaluation
There are five hand and wrist x-rays here. Describe any abnormalities seen and label the pathology on the images. If there is no abnormality, mention that.
3. Image Critique - Upper Limb
For the shoulder series below:
4. Bony Injury
The images below are all the same patient. These x-rays are of a 5 year old with a clinical history of ‘FOOSH, tenderness over radial aspect’. The first set of x-rays are on the same day of injury. The second set is three weeks after initial injury and surgery. The third set is another three weeks after.
5. Image Critique - Lower Limb
For the hip series below:
