Human resource management can be defined as a strategic, integrated and coherent approach to the employment, development and well-being of the people working in organizations (Armstrong & Taylor, 2014). HRM carries the goals of supporting the organization in achieving its objectives by developing and implementing human resource (HR) strategies, contributing to the development of a highperformance culture, ensuring that the organization has the talented, skilled and engaged people it needs, creating a positive employment relationship between management and employees and a climate of mutual trust and encourage the application of an ethical approach to people management (Armstrong & Taylor, 2014).
Organisational Behaviour (OB) is also intertwined with HRM. (OB) is concerned with the study of the behaviour of people within an organisational setting. It involves the understanding, prediction and control of human behaviour. Common definitions of organisational behaviour are generally along the lines of: the study and understanding of individual and group behaviour and patterns of structure in order to help improve organisational performance and effectiveness (Mullins & Christy, 2016).
