Each competitor presents a 5-minute speech with the details below:

Theme : How much control should a school have over curriculum design? The title and content of the Speech should be connected with the theme. Competitors may interpret the theme in any way they wish, but may not use the theme as the title of their speech. Competitors violating this rule will have their marks affected.

Context: International Public Speaking Competition

Your Role: Representative of Hong Kong

Target Audience: Representatives from other countries

Time Limit : 5 minutes 

Competitors are required to submit the title of their speech using the Own Choice Form (0C Form) downloadable from the Association website, no later than 8 November 2021. Competitors failing to comply will be disqualified. Winners of this class who are recommended by adjudicators, aged between 16 and 20 and holders of a valid Hong Kong permanent identity card may be invited to participate in the selection for entering the International Public Speaking Competition to be held in May 2022 in London / on-line. The participation fees and pre-competition training of the selected winner are sponsored by Tung Wah Group of Hospitals. 

Own Choice should not be selected from the set pieces of the current speech festival.
