Task:
Prepare an Observation Checklist to determine the developmental stage of a child’s language. It should be a multi-purpose checklist that you can adapt as needed for the child you will be observing. Base it on topics we have covered in class, and checklists we have looked at. You will need to refer to developmental milestone charts for each area included in your checklist, i.e. play behaviour, language, social skills. It should go up to and include 5-year-olds.

* If you are observing a 5-year-old, and can write down his utterances, and it appears that he is below age level, you would then arrange time to spend with the child to do a recorded session to capture enough language samples to do a proper screening for MLU.
Do not copy the checklists we looked at in class, but if you base your checklist on some we used, you must include a reference to them.
