Introduction to the Module
The main purpose of this module handbook is to provide you with a comprehensive guide for this module including an outline of the module aim, learning outcomes,
syllabus content and assessments and should be considered in conjunction with information provided within the programme handbook. In this handbook you will find
information and advice that should prove helpful as you progress through the module.
In Trimester A of Academic Session 21/22 the lectures for the module will be delivered online via GCU Learn and students will receive a reminder notification once lectures become available for download each week, around 24 hours prior to the scheduled lecture delivery. Seminars will be held on campus and students are expected to listen to the full lecture and carry out any assigned preparatory work prior to attending the seminars to enable them to fully engage and gain value from the learning. The module also incorporates e-tivities and a range of independent and group work tasks. An overview of the module’s structure, content and delivery will be provided during the first lecture to help you gain insight into what is expected on the module. The module learning outcomes and the module timetable are both provided within this module handbook; the former can also be accessed on the module website.
The module GCULearn site is the key resource for all learning materials, activities and the uploading of completed work for feedback from the module team. We will also use the site to communicate frequently with students. The module team’s contact details are provided both within this handbook and on the module website for convenience. Students will receive communication e-mail reminders via the GCULearn site prior to key submission due dates for formative and summative work tasks to keep you abreast of what is expected each week. Please also note that if there are any urgent queries, the module team is also only an e-mail away!
