Your team has just been retained to help a medium sized technology organization in the Ottawa area lead one of three major HRM initiatives. As a team you will select one of the three projects and complete a full project plan for initiative.

1. Rolling out a new performance review system OR
2. Upgrading their current HRIS system OR
3. Planning to send a work team of 15 people overseas for a year

As part of your project plan your team will:
1. 1. Define the project overview and goals
a. Include why this project is important to the organization
b. How does it tie into the organizations overall strategy
c. Ensure the goals of the project are specific and clearly defined

2. Define the project team and stakeholders
a. Who is on the project team; define each person’s role and purpose
b. Who are the stakeholders affected by this project
c. Identify stakeholders that could negatively affect the project what will you do to minimize this impact?
d. What stakeholders will help the project? How will you get them on board?

3. Create a detailed project plan in Excel or MS Project including:
a. Project scope
b. Deliverables
c. Milestones
d. Work breakdown structure
e. Process breakdown structure
f. Responsibility matrix
g. Estimates of time and costs for each activity and the overall project

3. Complete your project estimates along with assumptions to define your project budget.
4. Conduct a risk management assessment of your project.
5. Provide rationale for the above aspects of your project plan.
