Task 1

Apply appropriate course concepts to assess the growth of Cemex. (Approximate word count: 1,000–1,100) 

Task 2

Using appropriate course concepts, critically evaluate the strategy used by Cemex to successfully manage their acquisitions. (Approximate word count: 1,200–1,600) 

Task 3

Analyse Cemex’s approach to strategic change and consider how their organisational context may impact change. Consider the appropriateness and usefulness of at least one change model. (Approximate word count: 1,400–1,700)

Demonstration of knowledge by stating relevant course concepts which have enabled Cemex to successfully manage their acquisitions. This is supported by some application to Cemex. 

Inclusion of at least one change model and some application to Cemex 

Good

You will have met the criteria for Threshold and be able to present a developed argument based on case study evidence and independent research. This is done using an analytical and meaningful approach. 

Excellent

You will have met the criteria for Good and be able to demonstrate critical evaluation skills. This is an opportunity for students to be rewarded for demonstrating a level of critical engagement and understanding of a complex business strategy. Marks will be awarded for judgements based on recent independent research or demonstration of high level application skills.
