a. key profitability ratios of the sample banks, and identify trends in profitability by discussing equity and asset returns in detail.

b. key risk ratios of the sample banks, and evaluate credit, solvency, interest rate and liquidity risk in particular of these banks.

3. Empirical Analysis - Using the financial data of the banks do the following:

a. test the statistical significance of at least five bank-specific and three macroeconomic factors that can explain the variations in return on assets across sample banks. Interpret regression coefficients and provide cross references from journal articles.

b. using bank outputs and inputs, calculate and interpret X-efficiency of the sample banks and interpret the main results by using appropriate literature in this regar
