Aim and objectives
Did the dissertation demonstrate clarity in the research aim and explanation of topic under investigation? Was the dissertation clear and consistent in the aim and objectives being addressed throughout? Was the aim innovative/ important/ relevant?
How to structure Chapter 1 - Introduction
Whatever your research topic is and your ONE aim statement, develop an introduction chapter that provides a clear “explanation of topic under investigation” & one that relates to your ONE aim statement.
When referring to a sector and / or a particular organisation where you a focusing your study, you will need to also justify any points, issues, problems or opportunities that you have observed around the topic at the organisation, in the project or in the sector.
Alongside any referenced company data (e.g. policy / strategy documents) or sectorial data, you can convert your observations from being just personal assumptions about problems, issues or opportunities around the study, that you have seen, by screening your view against others in the sector or at the organisation / project i.e. other stakeholders – How can you screen your views?

1. To construct a theoretical framework relevant to attrition rates in the UK NHS based on the principles and theories of job satisfaction and motivation.
2. To examine the views of key stakeholders within the NHS to understand what they perceive to be the contributing factors to high attrition rates.
3. To present the findings arising from the key stakeholders as a thematic analysis.
4. As an output of the study to present a strategic framework of key factors causing high attrition rates in the NHS and some strategic options as potential solutions.
2. Literature Review
Aim
To explore the factors influencing high attrition rates within the NHS from two perspectives: the theory of job satisfaction and the theory of motivation as a panacea for human resource project management in the NHS.
Did the dissertation establish an appropriate framework of literature to provide an academic basis to the empirical investigation? In particular, was there a comprehensive, masterly and critical investigation of the relevant literature and/or bodies of knowledge?
To explore the factors influencing high attrition rates within the NHS from two perspectives: the theory of job satisfaction and the theory of motivation as a panacea for human resource project management in the NHS.
