Hiring and retaining women in non-traditional roles has been a longstanding issue in the resource sector in Australia, dating back to the 1980s. Two prescribed readings, by Murray and Peetz, and by Eveline and Booth, examine this issue. Readings through the course have mentioned theories that are relevant, in various ways, to this issue.
