• Constraints: evaluate internal and external constraints that can make it difficult for organisations to introduce social/cultural and environmental sustainability initiatives in Aotearoa/NZ, including economic sustainability related constraints.

Use two theories/theoretical lenses from a list of four (paradox theory, business case view, stakeholder theory, institutional theory) to further evaluate how the theories can help us understand why organisational sustainability initiatives take (or do not take) place. Resources are provided on EITonline (Module 1)

• Choose and familiarise yourself with two of the following: paradox theory, business case view, stakeholder theory, institutional theory
• Discuss the key ideas of each theory as it relates to explaining sustainability initiatives
• Evaluate whether and how each theory help us understand organisational sustainability action/non-action, including discussion about the drivers and constraints of sustainability action.
• Around 800 words (400 words/theory)
