A mid-sized company with branches around the world expects its employees to travel between branches, to sales meetings, conferences, and so on. So far they have had an internal travel desk that arranges these trips. The travel desk also approves per diems and trip budgets based on the traveler’s employee hierarchy, so a level 1 employee would need approval from his/her manager to travel in business class rather than the economy; and a manager’s bookings would not need any approvals.

Problem:

Since the internal travel desk is backed up with travel requests, the company would like to allow their employees to book their travel by themselves with minimum interference required from the travel desk. Taking into consideration flight, rail, car/taxi and hotel bookings, come up with a solution for the company to enable their employees to be able to communicate their travel plans to their manager for approval and notify the travel desk.
