a. Your certificate must include the unit HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting.

Please note HLTAID003 Provide first aid and HLTFA311A Apply first aid are both significantly different to HLTAID004. HLTAID004 is a first aid course specifically specifically for a childcare setting. If you hold the HLTAID003, HLTFA311A or similar first aid certificate then you must upgrade to HLTAID004.

b. Your first aid component must be obtained within the last three years.

c. Your CPR component (may be an additional certificate with the unit HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation) must have been obtained within the last 12 months.

Please note HLTCPR201B Perform CPR is significantly different to HLTAID001. If you hold the HLTFA311A or similar first aid certificate then you must upgrade to HLTAID004.

2. If you do not have a current first aid certificate, you will need to enroll in a first aid course with a recognised first aid provider at your own expense.
