Conducting business internationally presents many new opportunities for a business, but it also presents a number of challenges and risks. Accounting for Success is a large accounting firm based in Sydney, Australia. The partners at Accounting for Success are focused on providing value-added services to its clientele, such as advice, advocacy, and wealth-creation strategies. Routine functions, such as book keeping and tax returns, have been outsourced to subsidiary accounting firms based in India, Papua New Guinea, South Africa, and Zambia. Outsourcing these routine functions, however, has created new challenges. The challenge of cross-cultural communication between the Sydney office, and its subsidiaries in India, South Africa, Papua New Guinea and Zambia, has become a bigger problem than whatmanagement at Accounting for Success anticipated; communication barriers, misunderstandings, and "lost in translation" events have occurred frequently. In your professional capacity as a communication consultant, you have been hired by Accounting for Success to write a a White Pape to address the cross cultural communication problems and provide some recommendations to remedy the problem. You will present the results of your research and your recommendations to Accounting for Success on how to best manage cros cultural communication between the Sydney branch and one (1) of the subsidiary firms in either India, South Africa, Papua New Guinea, or Zambia.
Your White Paper must include:
1. an executive summary;
2. relevant background information;
2. clear outline of the problem, the people, and the resources it affects;
4. different perspectives related to the problem, and alternative solutions;
5. your recommendations and the reasons for them;

Background:
The World Health Organisation (WHO) declared a global pandemic on 11 March 2020. Life, as much of the world knew it, changed instantly; “social distancing” in the absence of effective vaccines, became the norm. Government and organisational responses to the pandemic were many and varied because prior planning had not indicated the need for specific policy blueprint on how to best plan pandemic responses.During 2020 and 2021, Australia was under strict government-mandated lockdowns, curfews, and restrictions which closed workplaces and schools. As result of these government restrictions, many employees were obliged to work from home whilst facing multiple stressors: for example, educating children whilst obliged to continue their own work; mounting job insecurity and uncertainty; financial pressures; and unclear media communication and government messaging. For many employees, the stressors of their working situation, combined with uncertainty, resulted in negative mental health outcomes, loneliness, and decreased resilience. Covid 19 has presented as many managerial, professional, organisational and financial crises as it has public health challenges. For many organisations Covid 19 presented a learning curve in how to communicate with a remote workforce and maintain business continuity in the face of economic, social and emotional challenges and uncertainty. In reality, the virus is unlikely to vanish and organisations and employees will have to learn how to navigate problems caused by the virus, particularly how to communicate and motivate employees whilst maintaining business continuine.
