You are required to study a self-sourced medium/large sized building structure. The type of structure that students can choose is quite varied though typical domestic construction and very large scale projects are not suitable.

Some suitable projects include:
1. Steel or timber portal-frame structure,
2. Multi-storey building consisting of a conventional RC/prestressed concrete frame, structural steel frame, mass timber structure or a hybrid/composite structure, or
3. Other structure as approved by Subject Coordinator

Students are to submit a brief overview (approx. 4 pages - 600 words plus images) of their chosen structure with focus on Sections 1-4 from the final report. The marking rubric below and report template document will guide you on how to successfully write the progress report. Note that the work submitted in the progress report will form the initial part of your final report. Any text written in your progress report may be used in your own final report without any concern for self-plagiarism.
Final Report
The final report submission should the word count applies to the body text only so any tables, captions, the reference list and any appendices can all be excluded from the word count.
