To complete this and future assignments you need to identify a minimum of two suitable projects that you have managed to demonstrate your competency against the Diploma of Project Management standards. These projects need to have the following characteristics:

• A defined scope and objective

• You are the person responsible for the achievement of the objective (as PM).

• Consist of stakeholders

• Involve the use of multiple resources to conduct project tasks (under supervision from the PM)

• Involve a few dozen tasks (as a minimum)

• Involve the estimation and management of project costs

• Involve the procurement (identification, evaluation and selection of suppliers of project resources (equipment, materials, facilities and/or services)

TASK

A: Conduct a workshop with project stakeholders to identify the risks facing your project, analyse them and compile a Risk Register then complete the Risk Management Plan of the Project Management Plan (PMP). You may use your own organisational templates (section 9.10 of the 4in1 Template) or the ones provided in the USB (with this assignment).

For this task evidence should:    

The Risk Register:

• Include project risks from multiple categories

• Have risk statements appropriately detailed to be clearly understood

• Have logical risk analysis performed to determine the initial risk level

• Have logical risk treatment (if appropriate) identified

• Have logical risk analysis performed to determine the residual risk level

• Use appropriate tool/s to record the risks

B: Determine the various items that need to be procured for your project and compile a project Procurement requirements matrix, then complete the Procurement Management Plan of the Project Management Plan (section 9.11 of the 4in1 Template).  Establish the evaluation criteria for one of the procurement items, then using a decision weighted matrix, determine a preferred supplier for that item (provide this as evidence). You may use your own organisational templates or the ones provided in the USB (with this assignment).

C: Please note that 3 PMPs are required for three separate projects for this task.

From the information you have gathered so far about your project and how you intend to manage it, revisit all of the sections of the Project Management Plan (PMP), add additional information as required and receive approval from your project Sponsor. You may use your own organisational templates (4in1 Template) or the ones provided in the USB (with this assignment).

For this task the Project Management Plan should:

• Contain all of the subordinate plans from previous tasks.

• Provide clear communication of how the project will be managed.

Have been signed off by appropriate authority (physically or via email).

D: Conduct Monitoring and Control by reviewing project performance and provide:

An Inspection Report:

• Indicates the testing/ inspection of a project deliverable/s.

• Determines acceptance or rejection with area for improvement.

Project Audit Report:

• Demonstrates investigation to determine the compliance with project processes complying with agreed plans.

• Provides recommendation/s (where appropriate).

E: Conduct a project evaluation review & compile a Project Evaluation Report (or TMR Completion Report) that addresses performance, lessons & recommendations across all the functional elements of the project.

For this task the Project Evaluation Report should:          

• Address performance in each of the project management areas,

Cover lessons learned & recommendations relating to each of the project management areas.
