Question 1:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a technology based in the model on the brain’s neural network and uses multiple layers of information, including algorithms, pattern matching, rules, deep learning, and cognitive computing, to learn how to understand data. The advantages of using artificial intelligence are: Process automation, reduces human error, enhance creativity, provides precision and streamlines decision-making. According to Laudon and Laudon there are several major types of AI techniques as expert systems, machine learning, neural networks and deep learning, genetic algorithms, natural language processing, robotics and intelligent agents among some Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medicine is the use of machine learning models to search for medical data and uncover insights that help improve health outcomes as well as patient experiences, and it is becoming an integral part of modern healthcare (IBM).
Artificial intelligence already has proven its usefulness in the scientific and medical community because it has advantages and benefits such as the improvement of the quality of life of patients offering an accurate and faster diagnosis, speeding up research times for the development of new drugs and certain diseases. Additionally, AI improves the control and monitoring of chronic patients through electronic devices and wearables easing the workload of medical professionals (Lovejoy, Arora, Buch, & Dayan).
AI is revolutionizing all sectors by increasing efficiency and revenue and reducing costs and risks. The adoption of AI translates into a support and relief of the workload of health personnel, increasing the efficiency of those processes in which it is implemented reducing the costs. The main objective of the use of AI for administrators is to put the patient in the center of the health process, personalizing the care, diagnosis and prescribed treatment, since the improvement of the patient’s health is the main priority (Sunarty, Rahman,Naufal, Risky).
AI can help nurses identify at-risk patients who would benefit from clinical interventions to prevent adverse health events, AI will help to engage in basic practices such as assessment, and planning. In addition, to helping doctors detect early signs of diseases, AI can also help make the staggering number of medical images that doctors need to monitor more manageable by detecting vital parts of a patient’s history and presenting them with the relevant images. AI models can learn and retain preferences, with the potential to provide personalized, real-time recommendations.
(IBM) AI would help during the clinical trials, because it can assign medical codes to patient outcomes and updating relevant databases as well as would speed up the process providing faster and smarter search for medical. Drug discovery is another one of the longest and most expensive parts of drug development. AI would help reducing costs with better drug designs and finding promising new drug combinations (IBM).
According to Manne and Kantheti (2021), there could be the believing that AI would replace the human physicians in the future, but AI tools will not replace them nevertheless it can assist them to accomplish better results and precision in the medical field.
I would advise the acquisition of the artificial intelligence (AI) since it allows to offer more accurate diagnosis, improve the control of chronic patients, will reduce the time to create vaccines, will speed up the slow and expensive creation of new drugs, as it will help to solve complex treatments in a minimum of time, etc. The future looks much more hopeful reducing the risks which at the end would save lives and reduce the costs for the hospitals and the patients at the same time.
Question 2:
A lot of people enjoy driving until it is time to park. Why not let him park his own car? Drivers benefit from the stress reduction of looking for a parking space, garage operators and residents benefit from automated parking solutions that increase parking capacity. Automated vehicles (AVs) have emerged as technological solution to compensate for the shortcomings of manual driving. However, this technology is not yet mature enough to completely replace the drivers and accidents continue to occur and new technological solutions are needed to improve road safety.
As we can see in History, Henry Ford first incorporated mass manufacturing which is the production of goods in large quantities using standardized designs, assembly line started to be used which was or is a system in which the product is manufactured according to a process that is developed step by step (Royston, 2015). Now, Ford is researching and testing the self-autonomous driving vehicle showing how innovative the company is. Ford’s autonomous driving research program works directly with customers to better understand how autonomous vehicles could be integrated into their business.
“The advent of Automated Vehicles (AVs) holds promise as an efficient and safer alternative to manual driving. In addition to reducing human-caused accidents, it is also a matter of driving more efficiently with regard to the energy consumption, traffic flow, and driver workload”.” (Marcano Sandoval, 2022). Ford has been testing autonomous technologies in different cities of United States in association con Argo AI. The underlying intent of the program is identifying new opportunities and models for autonomous vehicle operations; in particular, to understand how existing processes and people can work when having to work with automated vehicles (Osburg, Yogathan, Kunz & Turba).
As the autonomous vehicle continue its development, and after considering the prototype process which “can be broken down in four steps and can be developed quickly and inexpensively, systems builders can go through several iterations […] to refine and enhance the prototype before arriving at the final operational one” (Loudon & Loudon, 541) we can add an additional step in the design of this project, such as the preparation of a survey on tourists in the airports and people with disabilities with modified vehicles about how they view this technological innovation.
“Customer responses to AI are often emotional […], but an overview of current literature on AVs and customer responses […] primary focus of previous research has been cognitive evaluations. In contrast, there has been insufficient acknowledgement of the equally important role of emotional evaluations. (Osburg, Yogathan, Kunz & Turba). However, their inside opinion and responses would impact the development of this innovative way of driving.
As Darcy explains in his doctoral dissertation, “Disruptive products and technologies change both how we live and the ways in which we live in communities. Automated vehicles (AVs) have the potential to be both disruptive and transformative” however his survey showed that “90 percent of respondents embrace strategies to influence, inform and educate users on the technology and ranked their preferences regarding sources of content” (Darcy, 2022) . In the future, we can expect more elderly and people with disabilities will use these vehicles with more confidence as the technology make them safer and more reliable than vehicles driven by human drivers.
