Debate is a formal contest of argumentation between two teams or individuals. Debate is a method of formally presenting an argument in a structured manner. The outcome of a debate may depend upon consensus or some formal way of reaching a resolution, rather than the objective facts. In this assessment task, you will be given a business scenario with a commercial problem. You may also select a different scenario/profile in consultation with your trainer or assessor. You will need to do online research on these points to find an appropriate solution and articulate the solution / idea with your trainer. After that you will need to present and debate your idea with your class / trainer.
Business Scenario:
The Greater Blue Mountains Area is a World Heritage Site in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, Australia. Spread across eight adjacent conservation reserves, it constitutes one of the largest and most intact tracts of protected bushland in Australia. The Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area was accepted onto the World Heritage List on 29 November 2000 and listed for its superlative representation of Australia's unique and characteristic eucalypt vegetation. In addition to its outstanding eucalypts, the Greater Blue Mountains also contains ancient, relict species of global significance. The most famous of these is the recently-discovered Wollemi pine, Wollemia nobilis, a "living fossil" dating back to the age of the dinosaurs.
Some of the tourism data on the region include 

• Blue Mountains received 954,000 domestic overnight visitors – up by 14.2%* on YE Sep 15. Visitors spent over 2.2 million nights in the region - up by 9.9% on YE Sep 15.
• Holiday’ (60.4%) was the largest purpose of visit for visitors to the region, followed by ‘visiting friends and relatives (26.2%) and ‘business’ (8.6%). Compared to YE Sep 15, visitors who travelled for ‘holiday’ grew by
• 28.5%* while ‘VFR’ declined by 7.3% and ‘business’ decreased by 14.3%.
• Sydney (58.6%) was the largest source of visitors to the region, followed by regional NSW (28.1%) and Queensland (4.8%).
• 15 to 29 years’ (25.1%) was the largest age group of visitors to the region, followed by ‘60 to 69 years’ (19.1%) and ‘50 to 59 years’ (16.7%).
