You have already taken a sample from the database given to you as part of the SA1.  Use the same sample to complete the assignment below.
Please note that the database given to you is not the population.  It is a large sample taken from the population of all SSI and SSSBE units in the country.  In other words, you had selected a random sample from a much larger sample!

1.    Test the null hypothesis that the population average of the variable “Value of Exports for Year 3” = 87,300.  Carry out a one-sided test.  Clearly state your null and alternative hypotheses.

2.    Is there a significant difference in the mean value (µ) of “gross output for Year3(in Rs)” between SSSBE units and SSI units?

3.    Consider two variables, namely “technical know-how obtained from (KNOW-HOW)” and “type of organization (ORG_TYPE)”.  Is there any evidence to say that these two variables are independent of each other?

4.    Some male chauvinists like to think that the productivity of women employees is significantly less than that of male employees. The productivity is to be measured based on the two metrics defined by you.  Do you agree or disagree with this?  Justify your answer with appropriate analysis. 

5.    Is there a significant difference between SSI and SSSBE units in terms of the proportion of “Good” units?  Use the categorization of “Good” that you had already done earlier based on the two performance measures defined by you earlier.  Test this null hypothesis with respect to both the performance measures defined by you earlier.

6.    Consider the two different performance measures defined by you.  Test if there is a significant difference between different districts with respect to the performance of the units (all units) based on the two measures.
